Exploring The Importance Of Recess

Considering Private School For Your Child? Three Reasons Why You Should

If your child is ready to go to elementary school, you may be trying to decide between public and private school. There are many benefits of private schools, three of which are listed below. Learning more about private school is important for both you and your child.

Smaller Class Size

You have likely heard of public schools that have large class sizes with only one teacher and wondered if the children could be taught properly. In some cases, the teacher will have problems teaching their students because there are so many of them. It may be difficult for the teacher to find time to help your child with their homework. Your child may not understand a concept the teacher is teaching them. When this happens, they should be able to rely on their teacher to sit down with them and explain the concept.

Foster Your Child's Interests and Skills

A private school can help foster your child's interests and skills. For example, if your child loves music, arts, or sports, you can find private schools that cater to these things. This will allow them to learn more about the things they love, and help keep them eager and interested in learning.

Your child may be provided with access to high quality laboratory equipment, high quality sporting facilities, and offered a variety of outside extra-curricular activities to help keep your child engaged.

College Counselors

Many private schools offer college counselors to help your child not only decide what they want to do with their life but help them through the college admissions process. According to the NAACP (National Association for College Admissions Counseling, less than two-fifths of counselors stated that the public school they worked at had a counselor whose primary responsibility was to help students with college admissions.

On the other hand, private schools spend 53% of their time helping students with college admissions. Three quarters of private high schools have a counselor on staff whose sole responsibility is to help children with this. This means your child may have a better chance of going to college if they attend a private school. Even though your child is only in elementary school, this will benefit them when they reach the higher levels.

Visit some private schools in your area and ask them questions you may have. This can help you make the best informed decision on if a private school would be best for your child. Contact a private school like Carden Academy for more info.

About Me

Exploring The Importance Of Recess

Hey everyone, my name is Greg Butchers. I would like to explore the importance of recess and play breaks during the elementary school day. There is a lot of talk about eliminating recess to make time for other types of instruction. I firmly believe that children need unstructured playtime provided by breaks after lunch and throughout the day. The social skills learned during recess cannot be adequately replicated during class times. Kids also need to chance to stretch their legs to remain focused during structured lessons. Recess can help keep childhood obesity levels in check to keep kids healthy throughout life. I hope that I can convince others that recess is an important part of the education process. Thanks.
