Exploring The Importance Of Recess

5 Different Types Of Homeschooling Approaches

With homeschooling, there are many different approaches to educating your child. Each child is unique, and the curriculum and learning style that will work for one child may not work for another. That is why it is important to study different educational approaches carefully, so you can choose the one that is best for your child.

Classical Education

With classic learning, your child's education is focused on grammar, logic, and rhetoric. The focus is on helping your child learn about language and then use their five senses and logic to figure things out, pulling these three ideas together. This is great if you want to cultivate your child's lifelong passion for learning.

Charlotte Mason

The Charlotte Mason approach is about learning from real-life situations, such as taking a nature walk, visiting museums, and engaging in activities that help the learning come alive. Formal instruction happens every day but is kept short, with the real learning taking place through hands-on activities. Nature and music are a big part of the learning process.

Montessori

Montessori is another type of learning that focuses on hands-on learning in real-life situations. It is about giving children an opportunity to choose what they want to do while providing your child with instruction and learning to support their development. This type of learning works best where there are clear limits for the child but where the child can also feel empowered.

University Model

A university model is a hybrid learning model. Your child learns at home two to three days a week, under your supervision. Then, your child attends a school run by highly educated professionals for two to three days a week. They receive additional instruction in a very small classroom setting, much smaller than one would find in a public or private school. This situation helps assist with the education process and ensures that your child gets lots of one-on-one instruction.

Eclectic Homeschooling

Eclectic homeschooling is about mixing different approaches to create a comprehensive learning environment. You may use different curriculums from different sources and blend different learning approaches. With an electric homeschooling approach, you combine multiple sources to create the right learning environment for your child.

Homeschooling is all about creating the right learning environment to allow your child to succeed. This often requires a little research and knowing your child's learning style so you can find the right learning environment for your child.

In addition to choosing a homeschool learning style and curriculum, you can support your child's learning with various programs. You can enroll your child in online and in-person classes in the community to help further your child's education and provide them with stimulating learning experiences that match your child's interests and needs.

About Me

Exploring The Importance Of Recess

Hey everyone, my name is Greg Butchers. I would like to explore the importance of recess and play breaks during the elementary school day. There is a lot of talk about eliminating recess to make time for other types of instruction. I firmly believe that children need unstructured playtime provided by breaks after lunch and throughout the day. The social skills learned during recess cannot be adequately replicated during class times. Kids also need to chance to stretch their legs to remain focused during structured lessons. Recess can help keep childhood obesity levels in check to keep kids healthy throughout life. I hope that I can convince others that recess is an important part of the education process. Thanks.
